Hazardous areas are usually formally classified into Zones according to the duration of occurrence of hazardous materials as follows

Zone 0 |
Flammable atmosphere present continuously or for long periods or frequently. (Typically >1000 hrs/year)Zone 1 |

Zone 1 |
Flammable atmosphere likely under normal operation occasionally. (Typically 10-1000 hrs/year) |

Zone 2 |
Flammable atmosphere unlikely under normal operation and, if it occurs, will exist only for a short period. (Typically <10 hrs/year) |
|
Zone 20 |
Flammable atmosphere present continuously or for long periods or frequently. |
|
Zone 21 |
Flammable atmosphere likely under normal operation, occasionally. |

Zone 22 |
Flammable atmosphere unlikely under normal operation and, if it occurs, will exist only for a short period. |
1)The falling, deposition and accumulation of combustible dust should belong to other explosive sources that form explosive atmosphere.
2)"Normal operation" means the forklift runs in accordance with its design parameter
